Thailand 2008

I just returned form Chiang Mai Thailand last night. I went there for a week to teach at a church planting conference for Acts 29 (A church planting organization). It was a small gathering (25 People) made up of church planters and the teaching staff for a local school, but I think it opened up the doors for more boot camps in Burma and Laos working more closely with pastors in those countries.

Did you know that there are less than 1% Christians in Thailand, and that it is one of the most closed countries to the gospel? The country is in bondage to superstition and animism, and has limited knowledge of the gospel of grace and redemption in Jesus Christ.

While there are some woeful practices (Such as sex trafficking), the people of Thailand are beautiful, and gracious. I hope you will be praying for this great country, and pray that the freedom that comes from knowing Christ would invade their land without harming their cultural beauty. I pray for a truly Thai Christian expression that we can all be blessed to to see!
